Spectrum Venture Management (SVM) is a UK based
venture capital business which focuses on the education and sustainability
sectors.
SVM’s investors include the Guardian
Media Group, Kingston
Communications and Syntek Capital
(a pan-European venture capital business controlled by the former Italian
Education Minister, Mrs Letizia Moratti).
SVM’s founding CEO is Ross Fitzgerald, a Harvard,
McKinsey-trained venture capitalist, who established Telewest
Communications’ Internet Service Provider.
Ross Fitzgerald is on the Board of a
number of education and sustainability businesses and non-profit
organisations including:
- Founding chairman of ‘Explore
Learning’, a national network of after-school education
centres aimed at primary school children
- Director of Pratt Industries, one of the
world’s largest paper recycling and packaging companies
- Development Cabinet member of The Climate Group, an
international non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing business
and government leadership on climate change
- Trustee of Enterprise Education
Trust, a non-profit organisation that introduces young people to
business and entrepreneurship
Ross Fitzgerald is also a UK-based international representative of
Muhammad
Ali.
SVM was formed in partnership with the
founders of Spectrum Strategy Consultants – Janice Hughes
(formerly of Booz Allen and Kip Meek (formerly of McKinsey).
